Water Tiger 2022

Here it is, my 14th annual Lunar New Year write-up. For those of you that are new here—each year I get to use all of the esoteric and spiritual aspects of Chinese Medicine I’ve been studying for decades and cram it into an astrology montage for your enjoyment. It’s a lot Chinese Polestar Astrology, a little pop history/anthropology/archaeology/nature channel/esoteric text reference for my nerds out there, a dash of Daoist/Confucian philosophy, some cheek, oral tradition from the various teachers and peoples I’ve had the opportunity to study and travel with, and I hope a momentary diversion.

My approach and cosmological view of Chinese Astrology is less fortune teller-y and more acknowledging of how all humans are more alike than different. Lunar New Year was traditionally a time to forgive debts, release prisoners to their families, and to start anew. Today, Chinese Astrology is an invitation to find the part of yourself that can participate in what the ancient Chinese civilization observed over centuries as comprising a balanced and harmonious society.

In 2022, we can access our inner Water Tiger, which will bring the opportunity to infuse a fresh, vigorous and present outlook, so buckle up!
